Escape to this 2 bedroom pet-friendly rural retreat in Exmoor National Park. This welcoming holiday home is a spacious wing of a traditional period farmhouse located near the charming Somerset town of Dulverton in Exmoor. With panoramic country views, and immediate access to a variety of scenic walking trails right from the doorstep, Stockham Escape is a great place for a relaxing rural retreat break. Guests can embark on leisurely strolls through fields and woodlands, including a rewarding full day trek to Tarr Steps, or opt for a circular route leading down to Dulverton where dog-friendly local pubs eagerly welcome both pets and their owners. For guests with horses, stabling is available by arrangement and at additional cost.
Maximum of 2 dogs welcome (at price of £30 per dog per stay) and a maximum of 2 cats welcome (at price of £30 per stay each). Sorry no puppies aged 12 months or younger allowed.

Horses and ponies are chargeable at £20 each per night, either on DIY livery in charming stone-built stables or on turnout in fenced paddocks. Hay and straw are provided as part of the package.
The stabling is just across the garden from the house.
The accommodation comprises two comfortably appointed first-floor bedrooms, one featuring a king-sized double bed and the other, a spacious super-king that can be configured as twin beds upon request. The bedrooms offer picturesque views overlooking paddocks and rolling hills.
On the ground floor is a welcoming sitting room adorned with an inglenook fireplace, a cosy wood-burning stove, comfy sofas, bookshelves, board games, and a smart TV. A bespoke kitchen-breakfast room overlooking an orchard features an old pine table and a well-equipped kitchen boasting amenities such as a ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and microwave. The family bathroom is equipped with a power shower over the bath, a toilet, and a hand basin.
The property benefits from WiFi access.
Guests can enjoy a comfortable stay; there is underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs. Guests are given a complimentary basket of logs, kindling, firelighters, and matches for the inglenook fireplace, to get you started. Bed linen and towels are provided, though guests are encouraged to bring their own towels for day trips and dog-related needs. Two dogs are welcome for a supplement, with certain restrictions in place.
Outside, there is a private lawned garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue for the private use of guests, where you can relax and soak up your surroundings. The garden is private but not enclosed. Adequate parking for three or more cars is available on the driveway directly outside the property.
For guests with electric vehicles, there is a metered electrical vehicle charging point.
This property is set on a farm that covers some 35 acres of farmland housing horses, Exmoor Horn sheep, and abundant wildlife like rare red deer, offering a unique setting.
A thoughtful welcome pack awaits guests, including a bottle of sparkling wine, home-made scones, Cornish clotted cream, locally produced jam, a small bottle of milk, as well as tea, coffee, sugar, and olive oil.
