You will also discover rolling hills and huge stretches of outstanding landscape and scenery, perfect for any enthusiastic walkers or cyclists. Also perfect for horse riding, golfing and also many water sports. Wildlife is also in abundance here and bird watching and other wildlife watching is a popular pastime. Take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands and enjoy watching hundreds of seals basking on the rocky shores. One of the most interesting has to be Hadrian’s Wall, an iconic English heritage site that snakes for 73 miles through the Northumberland countryside.
