The Northumberland National Park is extensive and takes in various paths by Hadrian’s Wall as well as a number of National Trust historical sites. Hadrian’s Wall, an iconic English heritage site snakes for 73 miles through the Northumberland countryside. Do note though that this castle is not at all easily accessible but is an enjoyable long walk for the able bodied.
