Cottage with open fire,

Ashington 4.5 miles. Winding Wheel Cottage is a delightful, four-bedroom home nestled in the charming, coastal village of Cambois near Ashington, perfectly placed for exploring the best of Northumberland. Offering a large and inviting holiday home, just a stone’s throw from the beach and with sea views to die for, Winding Wheel Cottage makes a wonderful base for all of the family, possible to accommodate up to seven guests. Benefit from ample parking on the driveway and to the roadside, before heading indoors, firstly reaching the stylish sitting room, with plenty of plush seating to sink into in front of the woodburning stove. If the sun is shining, spend time together in the conservatory, with views out to the enclosed decked area, a haven for alfresco mealtimes and entertaining. The kitchen/diner features a sleek design, with integrated, state-of-the-art appliances and a lovely dining table to fit all, perfect for gathering around for dinner parties or formal mealtimes, whilst a handy utility/garage rests next door, with further appliances and space to store bikes and watersport equipment. Take advantage of telescope on offer if you fancy seeing the Northern Lights/stargazing or want to watch the dolphins pass by the Bay, or head to the garden room to indulge in some light reading and a glass of prosecco; the choice is yours, as the cottage is right on the sea front and viewable from the front of the house. When it’s time to rest your head, retire to one of the four bedrooms, including a king-size with an indulgent en-suite, two double bedrooms, and a single, all serviced by a contemporary bathroom and convenient cloakroom. Winding Wheel Cottage is right on the doorstep of the stunning northeast coastline, where you will find an abundance of beautiful beaches or some of England's finest heritage sites such as Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle, where Harry Potter was filmed, Alnwick Gardens, Warkworth Castle, Lindisfarne Priory, Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, and Hadrian's Wall just to name a few. You can also take a boat trip from the seaside village of Seahouses, to the Farne Islands, where you will see an abundance of different birds including puffins. If its shopping you’re after, why not visit one of Europe's largest shopping centres, the Metro Centre in Gateshead which offers all kinds of shopping and entertainment. If you don’t want to venture to far away, you can take a leisurely walk on the unspoilt beautiful beach at Cambois, it is a hidden gem in the Northumberland Coastline, then head next door to the Charlton's Sports Bar which is run by the late Jack Charlton's son John. Jack was a famous footballer from the local town of Ashington who played for England when they won the World Cup in 1966; the pub is full of memorabilia of Jack's time winning the World Cup and when he was Manager of Ireland. They offer great, homemade food as well at a very reasonable price. The nearby town of Ashington is home to some very famous sportsman such as footballers Jack Charlton, Bobby Charlton, and Jackie Milburn; also, England cricketers Steve Harmison and Mark Wood who often frequent Ashington Cricket Club on match day. Whether you're looking for a relaxing break, or a chance to explore the beauty and culture of Northumberland, Winding Wheel Cottage is an idyllic base.
