Cottage,

Priestley’s Retreat is a charming holiday home located in the picturesque village of Belthorn in Lancashire. Its name pays homage to JB Priestley, who once used it as a writing retreat while working on his England Journey book. Set amidst stunning countryside surroundings, guests are offered the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the famous writer by exploring the plethora of scenic walks available in the area. The property boasts a convenient single-storey layout, open-plan living space, and off-road parking, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay for all visitors.

Upon entering Priestley’s Retreat, guests are welcomed into a spacious open-plan area that seamlessly integrates a well-equipped kitchen, dining space, and a cozy sitting room. This thoughtful layout encourages effortless movement between the main living areas, fostering a sense of interconnectedness within the home. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything needed to prepare delightful meals, which can be savored at the dining table or enjoyed outdoors on the patio, soaking up the sunshine in true alfresco style. After dinner, guests can unwind in the sitting room, complete with a Smart TV for entertainment during a cozy movie night.

The outdoor patio provides a serene setting for relaxing morning coffees or evening drinks, allowing guests to bask in the peaceful ambiance of Belthorn village. Accommodation at Priestley’s Retreat comprises two inviting bedrooms - a king-size room with a TV for leisurely mornings, and a welcoming single room, both offering a tranquil space for rejuvenation after a day of adventures. The property also features a sleek shower room, providing a refreshing space to start the day or wind down with a relaxing soak.

While surrounded by idyllic countryside, Priestley’s Retreat offers convenient access to nearby towns and cities, including Manchester and Liverpool, making it an ideal base for both holidaymakers and business travelers. The Ribble Valley offers a slower pace, perfect for leisurely walks and cycling amidst rolling hills and breathtaking viewpoints. For outdoor enthusiasts, a trip to the Lake District National Park promises thrilling adventures, while a visit to the vibrant seaside town of Blackpool provides a classic day by the beach.

For a more relaxed experience, guests can explore the charming pubs and restaurants in nearby villages like Clitheroe and Skipton, or take leisurely strolls along the cobbled streets to admire the historic architecture of the region, all within a scenic drive from Priestley’s Retreat. Immerse yourself in the beauty and diversity of Lancashire by choosing Priestley’s Retreat as your gateway to an unforgettable holiday experience.
