Situated in the centre of the county of Powys, in mid-Wales, Rhayader is a market town set on the banks of the River Wye. The town is packed with charm and character and with plenty to do around Rhayader it is a fine choice of destination for a luxury self-catering holiday.
Valley View is a lovely log cabin, situated within the village of Rhayader in Powys. Hosting a double bedroom and a shower room, this property can sleep up to two people. Completing the open plan layout, there is a sitting, kitchen and dining area. To the outside is off-road parking for two cars and a garden to the front with a hot tub and fire pit. Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys.

Powys is the largest county in Wales covering central and mid Wales as well as the majority of the Brecon Beacons. With unspoilt countryside, inspiring mountain ranges and exciting opportunities, Powys is a wonderful county to visit for an insight into Welsh culture. There is no chance of you getting bored in this fantastic county due to the stunning rivers, beautiful haunted castles, fantastic mountain trails and brilliant cycle paths. There are so many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors you will be spoilt for choice. Spend the day fishing at a quiet lake or river, enjoy a family hack through superb woodland, go for a paddle on the River Wye in a canoe or enjoy a sunny game of golf. If, however you have come to Wales to kick back and relax then there are also some brilliant attractions that you may wish to spend your days investigating such as Llwernog Silver- Lead mines and Geo-caverns, Glansevern Hall Gardens, Montgomery Castle or Tretower Castle and Court. Family fun can be had at Gigrin Farm, the Brecon Mountain Railway and King Arthur’s Labyrinth. Before you leave this spectacular part of Britain don’t forget to visit one of the fabulous farmers markets and gather together some luxurious locally produced goods for you to take home with you. You may even wish to visit a market at the start of your holiday to collect together all your weekly food necessities. However if you prefer not to cook whilst on holiday then why not visit a fantastic local pub or restaurant to get a taste of some of the delicious local produce grown and reared here.
