Situated in the centre of the county of Powys, in mid-Wales, Rhayader is a market town set on the banks of the River Wye. The town is packed with charm and character and with plenty to do around Rhayader it is a fine choice of destination for a luxury self-catering holiday.
Studio layout with a double bed, kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with an electric woodburning stove. Shower room equipped with a walk-in shower, a basin, a heated towel rail, and a WC. Heating is provided by an electric woodburning stove. A two-ring hob, microwave, and refrigerator are available in the kitchen. For entertainment there is WiFi and a Smart TV. Fuel and electricity are included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. On request, a travel cot and highchair are available. Parking for two cars is available off-road. Lawn, patio, hot tub, fire pit, and furniture in the garden. We welcome two well-behaved dogs. Sorry, no smoking allowed. 2.1 miles to the nearest shop and pub. Please keep in mind that the garden is not enclosed, so please keep dogs on leashes when they are outside. Please bring your own bedding for the travel cot as it is not provided. Tea rooms, taverns, restaurants, and other necessities abound in this modest Welsh market town, as do quaint shops selling local antiques and other mementoes of bygone days. Swimming pool and weekly cattle market are an additional perk of the leisure centre. "You can't miss the Red Kite Feeding Station, which is located outside of town. One can see stunning dams and lakes in Rhayader's Elan Valley and Claerwen Valley because it is located on the River Wye. It is possible to rent bikes in Rhayader and explore the Elan Valley on foot or by bike. There is also a visitor centre with a caf and an outdoor children's play area.

Powys is the largest county in Wales covering central and mid Wales as well as the majority of the Brecon Beacons. With unspoilt countryside, inspiring mountain ranges and exciting opportunities, Powys is a wonderful county to visit for an insight into Welsh culture. There is no chance of you getting bored in this fantastic county due to the stunning rivers, beautiful haunted castles, fantastic mountain trails and brilliant cycle paths. There are so many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors you will be spoilt for choice. Spend the day fishing at a quiet lake or river, enjoy a family hack through superb woodland, go for a paddle on the River Wye in a canoe or enjoy a sunny game of golf. If, however you have come to Wales to kick back and relax then there are also some brilliant attractions that you may wish to spend your days investigating such as Llwernog Silver- Lead mines and Geo-caverns, Glansevern Hall Gardens, Montgomery Castle or Tretower Castle and Court. Family fun can be had at Gigrin Farm, the Brecon Mountain Railway and King Arthur’s Labyrinth. Before you leave this spectacular part of Britain don’t forget to visit one of the fabulous farmers markets and gather together some luxurious locally produced goods for you to take home with you. You may even wish to visit a market at the start of your holiday to collect together all your weekly food necessities. However if you prefer not to cook whilst on holiday then why not visit a fantastic local pub or restaurant to get a taste of some of the delicious local produce grown and reared here.
