The Bronte sisters, who lived in the village of Haworth, were inspired by the surrounding moorland to write their legendary books. In the novel Wuthering Heights, the author describes the landscape as "wild, craggy, and desolate." Haworth is a community that seems to have escaped the ravages of time, thanks to its multiplicity of antique stores, alleyways, and cobbled streets. Oxenhope, a charming ancient village beside the historic Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, is a popular stop for visitors. The railway was featured in the film The Railway Children.
