Cottage with open fire,

Oughtershaw Hall is an extraordinary detached country estate located in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park. This magnificent property boasts a private heated swimming pool and is surrounded by breathtaking valleys and expansive moorland. Steeped in history, the hall was originally a medieval farmhouse and later transformed into a shooting lodge in the 1850s. Nestled in the quiet woodlands of Oughtershaw hamlet, the estate sits at an impressive elevation of 1000 ft above sea level.

The interior of Oughtershaw Hall is beautifully styled with a fascinating history that dates back to the 18th century. The original guest book, intricate stained glass windows, external stonework, and a set of servants' bells add to the charm of this historic property. Upon entering through an impressive stone loggia, guests are greeted by a series of winding passageways with stone-flagged floors. The hall features four distinct seating areas, including a drawing room with a roaring open fire, a sitting room with a woodburning stove, a cozy library overlooking a babbling beck, and a sociable snug off the kitchen.

The heart of the home is the vast L-shaped open plan kitchen, complete with a breakfast bar, a large dining table, and built-in window seating. The first floor houses seven meticulously designed bedrooms, many of which feature character fireplaces, window seats, and luxurious en-suites. Additionally, the house offers a ground-floor bedroom with an en-suite shower room for guests with limited mobility. For entertainment, guests can enjoy the basement games room and an 8-seater sauna located in the separate boot room.

Adjacent to the main house, a superb indoor heated swimming pool awaits, featuring bespoke windows, underwater lighting, and a shower room. Guests can access the gardens through the original entrance hall, which overlooks Oughtershaw Beck. Surrounding footpaths lead through the valley, offering opportunities for picturesque picnics and leisurely walks along the riverbank. The property boasts a patio with panoramic views and is a perfect retreat throughout the seasons.

Overall, Oughtershaw Hall is an exceptional estate that provides top-notch holiday accommodation with a myriad of amenities for a truly memorable stay.
