The beautiful county of Moray can be found in the north-east of Scotland, hidden away from the usual tourist route. However, the county is actually ideally situated for a wonderful Scottish break due to its sheltered location in the Moray Firth between the mountains of the Highlands in the east and the Grampians in the east. Moray also has a lot to offer visitors as in the south of the county you will find the Cairngorms National Park but in the north you can discover the beautiful beaches of the Moray coastline. There is a wonderful selection of sandy beaches to be enjoyed in Moray with picturesque fishing villages to accompany them. Why not take a boat trip off the coast and go bottle nose dolphin spotting or see if you can spot any from your sunny spot on the beach. You can also enjoy some fantastic activities in Moray, not only is it great for wildlife watching but opportunities for fishing, golf, horse riding, mountain biking, walking, cycling, climbing and even water sports such as diving or sailing are available in Moray. You will also find access to water skiing and snow skiing in the winter. For those visitors looking for a chilled out and relaxing break there is also plenty of interesting places to browse for a tranquil day out. As Moray is the county of Macbeth, it boasts a wealth of castles, historical heritage buildings and great sites to explore. Also Moray is considered Whiskey country and has the only Malt Whiskey trail in the world which you may choose to investigate. For a fantastic family day out why not visit The Moray Firth Wildlife and Nature Reserve, Tugnet Ice House or Brodie Castle.
