Cottage,

Nestled in the picturesque village of Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, is this superb, five-bedroom, traditional Cotswold’s property, The Old Bakery. Formerly the village bakery approximately 18 years ago, the home still retains much of its original character, with exposed beams and floorboards, and even an old bakery oven, as well as a prime location within easy reach of the stunning Cotswolds AONB, The Old Bakery is a fantastic choice for a group or family of 10. Step into the contemporary kitchen/diner, featuring a beautiful central island, a handy dishwasher and a washing machine, where you can look forward to conjuring up delicious feasts for your loved ones, ready to enjoy over celebratory bottles of fizz in the dining room. After dinner, why not catch the last of the day’s rays with your favourite tipple out in the garden? As the evening grows dark, retire to the sitting room where you can snuggle up in front of your favourite show on the TV, or if you fancy watching something else, a delightful snug area awaits with its own TV and plush sofas. Completing the ground floor is a cloakroom for your convenience. Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day with a soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower in the well-appointed bathroom. There is also an additional cloakroom, so no need to worry about those morning queues! When sleep calls, retire to one of five stylish bedrooms, the first being a king-size with its own en-suite shower room, perfect for those who prefer a little more privacy. Additionally you will find two further king size bed rooms, a standard double and a twin bedded room, along with a double with a luxurious freestanding bath, two additional doubles and a twin. You will also find a superbly appointed family bathroom (with shower over the bath) Explore the local village, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at The Sun Inn and Pear Tree Inn, whilst local ales can be sampled at the welcoming Hook Norton Brewery. The village offers two well-stocked convenience stores, as well as a butchers, Post Office and pizza takeaway. Keen walkers will delight at the fantastic walks on offer right from your doorstep, with the 65-mile D'Arcy Dalton Way passing through the village and leading towards Wormleighton. Continue onto Chipping Norton, where you will find a good selection of pubs and restaurants, including Bitter & Twisted, The Blue Boar and the Thai Shire, whilst if you want to stock up on fresh produce, you can visit the renowned Diddly Squat Farm Shop, well-known for its appearance on the hit series, Clarkson’s Farm. Venture further into the Cotswolds AONB, where you can hike along the famous Cotswolds Way which ends at Bath Abbey, tour the National Trust sites of Chastleton House, Lodge Park and Chedworth Roman Villa or enjoy leisurely strolls around the attractions of Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre and Sezincote House & Garden. Be sure to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, where you can visit the former home, birthplace, school and retirement home of the great playwright, William Shakespeare, along with the attractions of The MAD Museum, Stratford Butterfly Farm, Tudor World, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and river cruises along the River Avon. An adventure to the Cotswolds doesn’t get better than with a stay at The Old Bakery.
