Cottage,

Nestled in the charming hamlet of Maugersbury, just on the outskirts of the picturesque market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, is Stonewell Cottage, a beautifully converted 19th-century barn offering a serene setting for a family retreat. The cottage accommodates up to four guests in its two cozy bedrooms, making it an ideal base for a peaceful getaway. Upon arrival, guests can park their vehicles on the private gravel driveway, which provides space for two cars, before stepping into the welcoming property.

Entering through the front door, visitors are greeted by the inviting open plan kitchen/diner, designed in a lovely country style, complete with exposed beams and high vaulted ceilings. This space serves as a perfect setting for socializing with loved ones. Adjacent to the kitchen is the elegantly decorated sitting room, featuring a remarkable stone well covered by protective glass, adding a unique touch to the decor. The room is further enhanced by a woodburning stove, ideal for creating a cozy atmosphere during chilly winter evenings, while providing the perfect spot to relax in front of the TV.

Proceeding to the sleeping quarters on the right side of the cottage, guests will find two homely bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a charming four-poster king-size bed, a striking exposed Cotswold feature wall, high vaulted ceilings, and an en-suite shower room equipped with a large walk-in rain shower for a luxurious bathing experience. The second bedroom offers a super-king-size double bed that can be converted into twin beds upon request, showcasing stylish decor throughout. A well-appointed bathroom with a relaxing bath completes the cottage's accommodation.

In the morning, guests can enjoy breakfast with their companions in the wrap-around garden, taking in the peaceful surroundings while making plans for the day's activities. Adjacent to the patio, there is a designated area where dogs can run freely. Stonewell Cottage benefits from its proximity to the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, less than a mile away, offering an array of amenities including boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, and a Farmers’ Market held every second Thursday of the month, showcasing local produce.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Maugersbury is surrounded by stunning countryside, with numerous walking and cycling paths nearby, including the Gloucestershire Way walking trail which spans 94 miles from Chepstow Castle to Tewkesbury. Visitors can also explore Birdland Park & Gardens to observe over 500 bird species in a natural setting or visit the charming village of Bourton-on-the-Water to marvel at a miniature replica of a Cotswold-stone village at The Model Village. Whether seeking a peaceful retreat or an active holiday, Stonewell Cottage offers the perfect home-away-from-home experience for guests to enjoy.
