Cottage with open fire,

Cowslip Barn is a charming 18th-century barn conversion located in the idyllic village of Cornworthy, near Dittisham in Devon, offering a tranquil countryside retreat for a family of six and their furry friend. The property has been sympathetically restored, featuring exposed A-framed beams and stonework, adding character to the living space. Nestled near the coast and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Cowslip Barn provides a perfect base for exploring the scenic surroundings of Devon.

As you arrive at Cowslip Barn, you will be greeted by a picturesque stone-fronted abode accessed via a private driveway off a country lane. Stepping indoors, you will be impressed by the open-plan living space showcasing a fully-equipped country-style kitchen with a breakfast bar, a spacious dining area for formal meals, and comfortable leather sofas surrounding a woodburning stove, ideal for cozy evenings with loved ones.

For outdoor relaxation, the property offers a private lawned garden with a patio and furniture, providing a peaceful space to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. Downstairs, on the lower-ground floor, you will find three well-appointed bedrooms including a king-size bedroom with a TV and en-suite bathroom, another king-size bedroom, and a twin bedroom, all serviced by a modern bathroom.

Exploring the local area, you will discover three charming pubs within walking distance of Cowslip Barn - The Hunters Lodge Inn in Cornworthy, The Maltsters Arms in Tuckenhay, and The Waterman's Arms along the Harbourne River. Nearby Dittisham offers local amenities while the town of Dartmouth beckons with its riverside location and attractions such as Dartmouth Museum, Dartmouth Castle, and the National Trust nature reserve of Little Dartmouth. Beach days at Blackpool Sands and hikes along the South West Coast Path await.

Venturing further inland, a visit to Totnes allows for exploration of Totnes Castle and the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, followed by dining at Waterside Bistro for delicious local cuisine. Families can enjoy attractions like Woodlands Theme Park, Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, and leisurely strolls along Paignton Pier or through Cockington Country Park. Berry Pomeroy Castle offers a glimpse into history amidst scenic woodland walks.

For a unique experience, a day trip to Sharpham's Vineyard in nearby Stoke Gabriel promises award-winning wine tastings, complemented by the natural beauty of River Dart Country Park. Cowslip Barn provides a perfect escape to rural Devon, offering a blend of relaxation, exploration, and memorable experiences for a family holiday.
