Cottage with open fire,

The Hay Loft is a stunning 18th-century barn that has been thoughtfully converted to maintain many of its original features while offering a luxurious rural getaway. Situated in a serene valley in New Hutton, near the charming market town of Kendal in Cumbria, this property is perfectly positioned for exploring the beauty of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Its interior is designed with an open-plan layout that is both functional and stylish, featuring a delightful blend of antique and contemporary furnishings that create a welcoming ambiance. Whether you spend your days out and about or relaxing indoors, this retreat offers a peaceful sanctuary to recharge.

The Hay Loft provides a cozy living space where you can unwind with a good book on the comfortable sofa or enjoy the tranquility of the secluded patio, listening to the soothing sounds of birdsong. During colder days, you can light the wood-burning stove and engage in indoor activities like playing board games or watching a film on the smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen allows you to prepare delicious meals with ease, but if dining out is more your style, you have a variety of options ranging from local pubs to Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from.

Accommodations at The Hay Loft include a ground floor bedroom with a king-sized bed, ample storage space, and direct access to the patio area. The mezzanine level features a double bed overlooking the living area, both of which are furnished with high-quality mattresses, pillows, and duvets, complete with luxurious bed linens. If you're willing to tear yourself away from this cozy abode, a short seven-minute drive will take you to Kendal's vibrant town center, filled with independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. Additionally, the Brewery Arts Centre offers a variety of entertainment options from cinema to live performances, and the Abbott Hall Gallery showcases an award-winning art collection.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the surrounding area provides ample opportunities for walking and hiking, with numerous trails starting right at your doorstep. The nearby Howgills and local limestone pavements offer scenic landscapes for exploration, while more challenging hikes in the fells are just a 25-minute drive away. Cycling enthusiasts will also appreciate the great biking routes in the area, with secure bike storage available in the owner's garage. Not far from the property, you can visit the iconic Windermere and Ullswater lakes, with their famous steamers, and explore the attractions associated with renowned authors Beatrix Potter and James Herriot.

In conclusion, The Hay Loft offers a splendid retreat in the heart of the Lake District, set in a prime location that caters to all interests throughout the year. Whether you seek a peaceful sanctuary to relax or an adventure-filled holiday exploring the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region, this property promises a memorable and enjoyable stay.
