Cottage with open fire,

Orchard Cottage is a grand four-bedroom property located in Outgate, near the village of Hawkshead in Cumbria, just 1.1 miles away. The cottage has been completed to an exceptional standard, featuring state-of-the-art appliances, stylish interiors, sleek bathrooms, and a large private garden. Despite its modern amenities, Orchard Cottage retains some of its original features such as beamed ceilings dating back to 1603. The accommodation can comfortably host up to eight guests along with two well-behaved dogs, making it perfect for a countryside retreat.

Set amidst a semi-rural setting on land gifted by Beatrix Potter to the National Trust, Orchard Cottage offers peace and tranquillity along with stunning panoramic fell and country views. The house and gardens boast wonderful views across rolling countryside to Latterbarrow and the Windermere valley. The location is ideal for those who enjoy countryside walks, with many enticing trails starting right from the doorstep and high fells just a short drive away.

The outdoor space at Orchard Cottage features rolling views across a manicured lawn and shrubs, with several patio areas equipped with inviting furniture. Inside, guests can relax in the suntrap conservatory, prepare meals in the contemporary kitchen, dine around the grand table, and unwind in the sitting room in front of a woodburning stove. The accommodation also includes a master super-king-size bedroom with an opulent en-suite, additional bedrooms, main Victorian-style shower room, and more spacious bathrooms and shower rooms.

For those who wish to explore the surrounding area, Hawkshead is nearby and offers an abundance of amenities including dining options at Queens Head and shopping at the local Co-op. The traditional Outgate Inn is within close proximity, and the famous Drunken Duck Inn can be accessed via a scenic walk. Public transport is easily accessible with buses running approximately hourly to Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside, and Windermere, making it convenient for guests to explore the beautiful Lake District National Park.

Nearby attractions include Rydal Cave, Stock Ghyll Force waterfall, The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Lakes Aquarium, and Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. Cycling paths connect Orchard Cottage to Ambleside, Hawkshead, Wray, and beyond, providing opportunities for outdoor adventures. Whether enjoying the Cumbrian countryside or exploring the nearby attractions, Orchard Cottage offers a luxurious retreat for guests looking to unwind and immerse themselves in the beauty of the Lake District.
