Cottage,

Lonsdale House is a marvellous, large mid-terrace town house enjoying an enviable position in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria. A former Gentleman’s residence built in 1851, this Victorian property's accommodation is set over two floors and enjoys an elegant interior, whilst the very best of the Lake District National Park is on its doorstep! Upon arrival, you will be pleased to discover generous off-road parking spaces for six cars, so you can easily unload your things into your new home-from-home. Make your way inside to discover a beautifully decorated and spacious sitting room, where you can unwind on the ample, plush seating as you watch a show on the TV. Continue to the kitchen, an area finished to a high standard and offering the designated chef an array of appliances to rustle up delectable, home cooked meals. These meals can be savoured in the well-presented dining room, where an abundance of seating is available. There is also a bar on this floor, where you can enjoy a tipple or a glass of bubbly, you are on holiday after all! As the day turns to night, climb the stairs to the first floor to find four thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms, three four poster bedrooms and a twin, all of which feature TVs, en-suite shower rooms and complimentary toiletries. Get to know your surroundings and wander into the picture-postcard town of Bowness-on-Windermere, with its promenade offering boat hiring opportunities and cruises to Lakeside or Ambleside, whilst the town itself offers a variety of restaurants and shops to cater to your needs. In terms of attractions, be sure to visit the marvellous World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, enjoy a stroll along Cockshot Point of The Glebe, where you can soak up the views, partake in an array of watersports at the nearby outdoor centres, or travel across the water to the National Trust's property of Hill Top. A short drive or cruise north will bring you to the friendly town of Ambleside, where history buffs can immerse themselves in the ancient history of the area, thanks to the Ambleside Roman Fort and the Armitt Library & Museum Centre; those who enjoy the outdoors will also be delighted by the town's access to a trail passing by Stock Ghyll Force Waterfall to Wansfell Pike. Why not spend some time in Kendal, a market town hosting Kendal Museum, the Quaker Tapestry Museum and two marvellous golf courses? There are a wealth of sights and activities waiting to be discovered, from days out in Keswick and Pooley Bridge to enjoying the outdoors in Ullswater and Scafell Pike. An excellent stay awaits at Lonsdale House.
