Cottage with open fire,

With stunning countryside views, Plas Glan Yr Afon is a 16th century Grade II listed building set on a working farm in Llangernyw, North Wales. With grounds home to cattle and with a wealth of characterful features including an inglenook fireplace, exposed stone and original timber touches reused within the renovation, this fabulous property seamlessly blends character and contemporary. Step inside the grand open-plan living space, hang your coat on the old saddle hooks, and find everything you need for a celebration with loved ones; the sleek kitchen is fit with all the appliances the chef of could want to whip up tasty dinners, while the pew-seat dining table offers a space to catch up about your day. From here, take the open-tread staircase up to the first-floor sitting room, fit with a media wall with a Smart TV and electric fire to snuggle up in front of for your evening entertainment. When sleep calls, find five beautifully decorated bedrooms where you can catch your rest; the ‘pink room’ is home to a stunning reupholstered French bed and a showcased exposed original wall, while the ‘green room’ boasts a grand headboard, lovingly repurposed from an old stable, with an en-suite shower room complete with a unique stone sink. Moving through the property, the family bathroom steals the show with a spacious freestanding bath and a walk-in shower to freshen up in, and steep stairs lead up to two more bedrooms, fit with vaulted ceilings and skylights. The last bedroom is ideal for those with limited mobility and rests on the ground floor, with a gorgeous en-suite shower room, river views and zip and link beds, with easy access to the patio. Spend your mornings, afternoons, or evenings in the garden, where you can dine al fresco or soak in the hot tub while admiring the vast countryside views. With its lovely Welsh cottages and stunning landscape, Llangernyw is the ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle of city life; those with a fishing rod licence may relax along the river Elwy on the property, catching the likes of brown trout and salmon. You'll also have easy access to some fantastic destinations, like the majestic, Grade I listed Gwrych Castle, via scenic drives along the popular B-road route. Visit Saint Digain, one of Wales's oldest churches, and don't forget to walk along the coastline cycling route. Visit the mediaeval town of Conwy, which is home to some of the country's most stunning historical sites, including the towering Conwy Castle and the Smallest House In Great Britain. If you're searching for outdoor activities, head to Snowdonia National Park for lagoon surfing at Adventure Parc Snowdonia, Tree Top Adventure, and Zip World, while the Carnedd Llewelyn and Glyder Fawr peaks are sure to please keen hikers. The evocative Plas Mawr, a 16th-century Elizabethan townhouse, and the lovely Quay Street, with its pretty stores and eateries, are among highlights. Visit the beach resort of Llandudno; Llandudno Pier is a lovely area to wander and take in the gorgeous views of the coast. Plas Glan Yr Afon is a superb property in a picture-perfect area for your next break to North Wales. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1102383 together sleeping up to 20 guests.
