Unusual, Village, Countryside views over fields

Nestled within the bustling yet rural village of Thornton, The Coach House is a charming countryside cottage that makes a wonderful base for a family or group of five touring the very best of West Yorkshire. Spend your evenings in the beautiful cream kitchen as you grab ingredients from the retro blue fridge/freezer and prepare a delicious family feast with the help of the sleek electric oven and hob. Take your seat at the lovely pine dining table and raise a glass to your adventures in the Yorkshire countryside, before relaxing in the lounge in front of the cosy electric fire. Venture up the staircase and discover three well-appointed bedrooms including a stylish king-size with muted grey tones, a light and tranquil double with exposed wood beams, and a quaint single bedroom offering the perfect space to retire to at the end of another fun-filled day. Across the way, a contemporary family bathroom hosting a roomy tub with an overhead shower can be found serving each of the bedrooms, providing guests with the option of a long morning soak or a quick rinse to kick-start their day. Make the most of warmer weather with afternoons spent lounging on the decking as you enjoy a refreshing glass of lemonade and admire splendid views of the open fields. The birthplace of the Brontë Sisters, the village of Thornton offers cafes, shops and pubs, whilst Haworth is just a short drive away and home to the popular Brontë Parsonage Museum and Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Explore the breath-taking landscapes of Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve and Leeming Reservoir, whether by foot or bike, or challenge yourself to a brisk hike to the top of Mere Stones. Travel to Riddlesden and delight in a tour of the National Trust owned East Riddlesden Hall, or travel to the neighbouring town of Halifax to see the historic site of St Stephen's. Wander the 18th century cloth hall of The Piece Hall Halifax, and explore the scenic woodland of Hardcastle Crags with its imposing 19th century mill. Over in Kirkstall, the 12th century ruins of Kirkstall Abbey are a must see, whilst Tropical World and Posey Pacas Alpacas make for excellent days out. Live unforgettable moments with your nearest and dearest on a fabulous holiday to The Coach House.

More about luxury holidays in West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire is a landlocked county found fairly centrally in the north of England. West Yorkshire is the most built up and urban of the Yorkshire counties but still boasts some wonderful countryside and easy access to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Peak district National Park. Also depending on where you decide to stay in the county for your luxury break, you may decide to take a drive to the coast which is around an hour away from the east side of the county. If you’re fond of pretty country villages, cosmopolitan cities brimming with character as well as wild moors and dales then the Yorkshire counties will definitely suit.  Discover Bradford Cathedral, Bradford Moor Park and the National Media Museum as well as Cliffe Castle Park, a wonderful Bronte sister’s tour and beautiful stately homes in and around Bradford. On the other hand you may prefer to enjoy the fresh air and stay active, in which case why not enjoy a wonderful trek across the countryside on horse back, take a cycle ride across the moors or try something new and join a rock climbing or caving excursion. To enjoy a weekend away just for two, why not consider a Luxury romantic cottage.
