- Takeoff and reach for the sky with the excellent Heights of Abraham cable car lift in Matlock. Alternatively, trained hikers can attempt to conquer this natural wonder. However you get to the top, the views that await you mean that this is a must.
Things to Do
- Visit Bakewell town and try out the original Bakewell Pudding. Three shops claim to have the original recipe so you’ll have to try all three to be sure!
- Enjoy a walk through one of the many available routes in the area. The Derwent Valley Heritage Trail goes through the area and another popular route can be found at the Darley Moor in the Forestry Commission plantations.
- Indulge in some retail therapy in Sheffield. The city of Sheffield can be reached by car in less than one hour and is a great way to enjoy a contrasting day to the more tranquil setting of the Peak District. The city is full of buzz and excitement and is also home to a great range of shops and eateries.
