The village of Llangadog lies at the foot of the Black Mountains in the Towy Valley, close to the beautiful Brecon Beacons Park. A luxury holiday in or near to Llangadog may best suit those looking to enjoy a country break.

The village clusters around its medieval church St Simon and St Jude with one wall that dates back to the 6th to the 8th century. Climbers, walkers and lovers of the outdoors will delight in the village location within the western boundary of the fantastic Brecon Beacons National Park.

When it comes to places to visit, there are a number to choose from. Three miles away in the village of Bethlehem is Garn Goch an Iron Age Hill fort. In modern times, this village has become better known for doing a roaring trade at Christmas time, franking cards with its Christmas appropriate post mark and is an interesting place to visit. Also close to Llangadog is the12th century National Trust’s Dinefwr Castle and parklands. This fine country home was the seat of the Dinefwr Dynasty and where many decisions affecting Wales were made by Lord Rys. The estate lies within an 18th century landscape designed by George and Cecil Rice. Another great day out can be had at the National Trust’s Dolaucothi Gold Mines where you can try your hand at gold panning. At this site many before you from the Romans to 20th century have also tried their luck!

When enjoying a luxury cottage break in this corner of Wales you can enjoy exploring the great outdoors or visiting one of the many historical attractions available close by, the choice is yours.
