- Although cancellations are usually very rare from reputable owners and some may be unavoidable, cancellations from owners reduce trust in Cottage Gems and can mean significant disruptions and inconvenience for guests.
- If you as an owner or business customer cancel a confirmed booking, a full refund of all monies paid by the holidaymaker will be refunded to the holidaymaker (less our booking fee) and no monies will be due to you for the cancelled booking.
- In addition to this, our cancellation fees will apply.
Our cancellations fees (as per our terms):
• If you do cancel a confirmed booking, a minimum cancellation fee of 3% plus VAT of the total booking price is payable by you to us. Business customers should note that any cancellations negatively impact on guests’ experience of Cottage Gems, our reputation and in trust in our brand. Depending on the timing of the cancellation, additional fees will apply as outlined below:
• If the confirmed booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the reservation being placed, the standard 3% fee will be applied.
• For bookings cancelled after 24 hours and up to 30 days before check in, a cancellation fee of 10% of the total booking price will be payable by you.
• For bookings cancelled within 30 days of the check in date, a cancellation fee of 25% of the booking amount will be payable by you.
• For bookings cancelled 48 hours or less before check in time, a cancellation fee of 50% of the booking amount will be payable by you.
• Owners/agencies with an unacceptable level of cancellations (usually 2 or more in a year’s period) or those who do not comply with our procedures, will be removed from Cottage Gems and their account withdrawn with one day’s notice.
• All cancellation fees must be paid online by you via the Cottage Gems system before you are able to cancel any bookings.
