This is England’s most northern county, a magical place with some of the great aspects of both Scotland and England. The county is filled with ancient castles, beautiful beaches, rugged moorland and pretty quaint English villages and towns. You will also discover rolling hills and huge stretches of outstanding landscape and scenery, perfect for any enthusiastic walkers or cyclists. Also perfect for horse riding, golfing and also many water sports. Wildlife is also in abundance here and bird watching and other wildlife watching is a popular pastime. Take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands and enjoy watching hundreds of seals basking on the rocky shores. You can also spot otters, badgers, deer and much more in varied areas of Northumberland. If you’re feeling less active and would rather take in the sights then Northumberland also has a vast array of stately homes and historic buildings for you to investigate as well as world-class castles and forts. One of the most interesting has to be Hadrian’s Wall, an iconic English heritage site that snakes for 73 miles through the Northumberland countryside. With such a large iconic landmark just waiting to be investigated why not bring along your furry friend and enjoy the walk together with a Luxury Pet-friendly cottage to return too.
