The Georgian House is a stunning Georgian, self catering, Grade II listed house set over two spacious floors, set within five acres of land at the base of Sugar Loaf Mountain. The house has been renovated beautifully and is comfortable, eclectic and contemporary, whilst still retaining its Georgian style, offering the ultimate setting for a luxurious getaway to the incredible Welsh countryside. Be welcomed into the warm embrace of the comfortable sitting room where you can unwind on one of the three plush sofas and enjoy a movie on the impressive TV. In warmer weather French doors open to the garden, whilst in the winter you can cosy up with the contemporary fire creating an inviting ambiance. Spend time cooking up a storm in the large contemporary kitchen dining room, you can turn your hand to any number of cuisines using the impressive array of electrical appliances, utensils and cookware, with the large and sociable dining table in the heart of the kitchen encouraging quality time spent with family and friends. An adjoining utility room, with an additional sink and small fridge, gives that extra space for mess, mud and those much needed holiday treats. With the addition of a games room there is plenty of opportunity for family fun as well as areas for everyone to escape to and entertain themselves; the pool table, extensive range of games and a DVD player mean that family nights can be as lively or relaxing as your day’s activities dictate. Outside the kitchen and sitting room, the patio, with outdoor seating, offers a perfect vantage point to see the comings and goings of the garden, where there are acres of space for everyone, the children can be running off steam in the pool or football field and lunch can be served on the lawn from colourful metal dining sets, basking in the sun or shaded under one of the many lush, statuesque trees. Don’t forget to take a peaceful walk through the orchard where, season permitting, you can pick up a vast array of unique species of apple to turn into that perfect apple pie. At bedtime you know your whole family will be comfortable and content with three double bedrooms, two being ensuite, one twin room and one single, the third double, twin and single share a well appointed family bathroom, whilst the master boasts a large, luxurious, boutique bathroom with walk in shower and his and her basins, and the second ensuite has a beautifully appointed shower room with walk in shower and separate toilet. Perched on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and within walking distance of the town of Abergavenny, the property is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding national park or simply to relax in your surroundings, with views of both The Sugar Loaf and The Blorenge can be seen from both the house and gardens, whilst the Skirrid is just a short drive away. Abergavenny is a thriving market town surrounded by a number of very highly rated restaurants, including the Michelin starred Walnut Tree. Castles, walking trails, historic sites and outdoor adventure abound, with speedy access to the cities of Newport, Cardiff, Hereford and Bristol: fantastic days out whatever your preference are easy to attain.
