Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey is a vibrant yet relaxing town to stay in on a luxury cottage break with an interesting mix of architecture dating from Medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods. With a location right by the seaside, this pretty town could be a great choice for a coastal holiday. There are many beautiful beaches for relaxing or fishing and other options include crab fishing off the pier or sailing. Alternatively just admire the yachts on the beautiful coastline and the excellent view of the Menai Bridge which connects Anglesey to the rest of Wales and Snowdonia National Park which is close enough to visit.

In town visit Edward I's concentric castle, a world heritage site, said to be the last castle in his ring of castles. Everyone loves the atmospheric Courthouse Museum and the Jail nearby. Be enchanted by The Museum of Childhood and Haulfre Stables Museum. The latter's garden offers fresh produce for your cottage larder.

Whilst on your luxury holiday, drink ale and soak up history at the George & Dragon, one of Wales oldest pubs or relax in one of the many restaurants (some of which offer gourmet dining experiences). Browse the shops which include independent options and peruse places such as the Craftworkers Guild Shop for quality gifts including objects made from glass, silver, wrought iron and paintings. Whilst in town you may also catch the Antique and Collectors fair which takes place each month.

Days out can be happily spent discovering some of the best of the Anglesey coastline as well as visiting some historical houses. Nearby is the exquisite Plas Newydd County House and Gardens, home to the Marquess of Anglesey. Another popular historical home to visit is Plas Bodfa, a beautiful country house with views over the Menai Strait and out towards Snowdonia.

Whether you need to find a luxury cottage by the coast or prefer to stay inland, we trust that you’ll have a fabulous time on a luxurious break in or near to Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey.
