A Grade II* listed, historic holiday home, Cleve Lodge is believed to have been built between 1500 – 1550, full of character and steeped in history, this home offers a group of eight an exceptional base for an escape to Kent. Hidden away in the countryside between the villages of Minster and Acol is the Cleve estate, where you will find the part Tudor Cleve Lodge. Hosting the famous and infamous throughout the years including Baroness Orczy, the writer of The Scarlet Pimpernel, Irish unionist politician, barrister and judge Lord Edward Henry Carson, and even Winston Churchill, this holiday home is sure to be a stay to remember. Enter into the spacious hallway where you can take a seat on the Chesterfield sofa and kick off your shoes, admiring the characterful decor that encompasses the property. Being the original house on the site it is featured on many historical maps, take your time to explore the many copies which are displayed around the house! Venture into the living/dining room where the whole group can gather in the spacious seating arrangement before the woodburning stove to spend a relaxed evening in each other's company, with the dining table making the perfect spot to carry on your conversations over a bottle of wine and a delicious dining experience. The kitchen offers a more contemporary feel, with a fantastic host of appliances allowing you to prepare a family feast in no time; here you can find a double electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and a dishwasher, while the garage also hosts an American style fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer for your convenience! In the warmer weather, be sure to make the most of your very own private patio area with alfresco dining. The ground floor is also home a handy cloakroom, while moving up the staircase - ducking your head as you pass - will bring you to the first floor hosting the spacious family bathroom, home to a luxurious bath with a handheld shower, and a separate walk-in shower, so you can choose how best to prepare for your day. You will also find four well-presented sleeping spots on the first floor, consisting of a master superking-size, a four poster double, a king with its own basin and a twin room, offering a wonderful layout for a variety of group needs, each room offering its own splendid interior. Explore the wonders of the local area, starting in the nearby village of Minster, also known as Minster-in-Thanet, this charming village is where you can find all of your amenities for your self-catered stay; find a selection of convenience stores where you can pick up some fresh ingredients for a homemade meal, as well as pubs, restaurants and takeaways when you don't feel like cooking, being sure to visit the imposing Minster Abbey while you're in the area with its picturesque gardens well-worth a roam. The seaside towns of Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs can also be found via car or train, offering delights for all of the family including Turner Contemporary art gallery, Dreamland Vintage themepark, Dickens House Museum featuring an exhibit on Charles Dickens and the Ramsgate Tunnels are a must, to discover the shelter of 60,000 people during WWII air raids; a truly unforgettable experience. Description

Cleve Lodge is a spectacular, historic holiday cottage resting in Monkton near Minster, Kent. There are four bedrooms in the property sleeping eight guests, including a super king-size, a four poster double, a king-size double with a basin and a twin, served by a cloakroom and a bathroom. There is also a kitchen and a living/dining room with a woodburning stove. Outside you will find a rear private patio with furniture and charcoal barbecue and off-road parking for three cars. Cleve Lodge is a wonderful holiday home to base a memorable escape to Kent with your loved ones.

Minster is a lovely little village resting in the Thanet District of Kent, in easy reach of the coast. Within the village you will find a scatter of convenience stores, pubs, restaurants and an imposing abbey, as well as offering a train station for easy access to the surrounding area. The coastal town of Ramsgate is within easy reach for a traditional day by the sea, as well as Canterbury being just a scenic drive away boasting a wide range of wonderful attractions all-year-round.
